There's a plant in the window, growing at incredible speed but stuck in a tiny pot, we'll see how it goes
Dear Friend, it's the 23rd of May and things are looking bright. I've passed lotsa exams and assignments, climbed out of my recent loss of faith and found time to do some more photographing. I'm alive and kicking. I realized that I probably won't get anywhere with trying to think my way to "truth" or "wisdom", sure, I might stick to a thought or philosophy for a while, but then I'll think some more and get all confused again. My thinking took me strange, barren places I do not wish to go. Thus, I realized, using my feelings, I can go anywhere. Less mind more heart. As long as I love life and all creation, I will be fine.
Can't be arsed to upload new pics, but I'm working on my other website again and hopefully we'll see some updates there, for you who know the url (and thus my real world identity).
Until then, go have a laugh:

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience"
- Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
Dear random reader, it's May and a lots of things have been going on. I'm finally done; I've had a five week-or-so streak of really important and heavy things to do, such as writing a short story for Blizzard Entertainments international writing contest, singing with my choir in the Holland Harmony (European barbershop championship) which we totally won, then singing with the same choir and with my newly formed quartet in the Nordic Championship (SNOBS convention 2009) where our choir won again and my quartet qualified for the international collegiate quartet competition, and finally, I participated in a national Madarin Chinese profiency contest and won a one year scholarship, lots and lots of assignments and exams in school and stuff so yeah... Things have been quite... Busy.
And on the inside, I've had like an emotional, spiritual, psychological and philosophical break through, which I might share with you later... It was sweet! Here's some nice links to some of my favourite photographers, and also I uploaded a creepy photo I took recently.

Gray and gloomy...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH these months are so infuriatingly pissy. These two months, January and February, are freakin' meant for doing nothing. I'm hibernating, trying to fade away in self-imposed seclusion... There are a couple of things working against me though; school and my chorus. I'm fine with the latter, but the former is, I don't know, spinning out of control. The summed up amount of work needed to be done is fairly manageable, but the way it is structured and split up into millions of separated and seemingly complicated tasks is not, or whine-spawning at least...
Oh well.
I'm still trading this reality for the Northrend one, which is fine. My pet snakes (photos coming soon) are doing great, I hope. Not taking too much photos, but took some shots with ironically show what mood I'm in. I may or may not have met someone who's breathing warm new winds in my cold winter being at the moment which is plain fine. Ran out of books to read as well. Shakespeare? Meh.
I hope you're in a more, colorful, mood than I am,

Hectic times... The second half of January and the first half of February was filled with events. My male chorus recorded a CD on which I sing a solo, I'm satisfied with that and the time in the studio was a nice change to the gray days of these otherwise sort of useless months.
We also had a Valentine's Show which went well; we sang together with my very good friends the Ringmasters and adorable Matilta Bådagård. I actually got to sing a duett with Matilda, it was awesome. The rest of that weekend was also hectic, but in a completely different way...
Last night the Ringmasters held their own concert together with the super cute girls Kraja. After that we went out and grabbed a beer or five. Other than that I've spent a lot of time sinking deep into the world of Azeroth, I'm sorry, but it's way more colorful and rewarding than this world at the moment...
See you in Ulduar!
Ps. Did I mention the Chinese New Year DJ Gig I had? I'll write about that next time. Ds.

Sushi Time! Ah, and so it came to pass that a couple of friends from my uni class and I decided to stray away from the Mandarin Path for a while and feast on some home made (well... home sliced and rolled) sushi! I provided the house and my pals provided the actual food. I tried to talk myself out of the more serious tasks such as slicing the salmon in perfect slices thus I ended up monitoring the boiling rice. Fair enough.
This took us about two or three hours, making your own wasabi not included. But it tasted oh so good, and after some diplomatic discussions one party convinced the other party to boil the rest of the rice and make more sushi - an extremely wise choice. Sometimes during this three hour adventure I sneaked off and snapped some photos.
It was a great evening and the food was really tasty - making your own sushi meals is easy and recommended for all people out there with sensitive taste buds and too much spare time.

All work and no play make Lavender a dull writer... Since I started studying really diligently and ambitiously more than one week ago, my time on-line has been minimal. On the other hand, I now know a whole lot more about the history of the People's Republic of China and stuff. I also have a new, struggling and strong caffeine-addiction. And oh, we had some two or three recording sessions with the chorus, laying down some tracks for our upcoming CD which I will tell you to buy once it gets out.
Gosh, I get bored even writing about my nerdy week.
As I wrote earlier here somewhere - I really don't respect people who have a boring blog where they don't write about anything special or important... Thumbs up for dedicated music blogs, political blogs and other, constructive and productive blogs which provide their readers with useful info. Mine is of course in the former category and I'm quite embarrassed about that fact... But what I detest more than pointless personal blogs, are pointless personal blogs linking to mindless Youtube-clips which anyone with a decent Internet connection and no life has already seen. So. Here we go...

I've become, it seems, what I've always hated... Hahahah!
And to make this look pretty, I've uploaded some more photos from my stay in China.

Old friends... Sat on their park bench like bookends. Evening! I just had the privilege to have a good, very old friend over for dinner. I've known her since we were ten, but we haven't met for like two or three years because we went to universities in different cities and stuff. Thus, this night was all about catching up re life; school, job, (ex) partners - everything. It was a very still and warm evening.
She just left, and I'm sitting here feeling calmly happy. Somehow, sometimes, especially after coming home from a long trip filled with meetings with new people, places and new life experiences - meeting someone who truly knows you, or at least grew up with you, is plain awesome. There are always things about you that someone you've only known for half a year or so can't possibly know, and that's exactly why I like spending time with someone who has known you since you were kids.
Anyhow, we've both been in Shanghai for a long (but not at the same) time, so that was a good and grand topic. We looked at some of my 10 000 photos (yes I know) and now I figured; why not upload some of them here for all the world to see? Hahaha who am I kidding...
All of these are taken at Summer Palace in Beijing, China, August 2008. I'll upload some more eventually...
Until next time,
Lavender
